A little about the person behind the details
Sometimes it’s the things working quietly behind the scenes that shape how a studio feels.
From building elements of the space itself to supporting the creative and technical side of Blue Lotus, Adam’s work is woven throughout the studio.
Here’s a little about Adam: what inspires him, what he loves about the work he does, and the role he plays in bringing Blue Lotus to life.
Behind the camera
Before opening Blue Lotus, I studied photography, and that creative background still shapes a lot of what I do today. From studio/jewellery photography and website design to the overall visual feel of the brand, I’ve always loved the process of building something that feels both detailed and functional.
A lot of my work happens behind the scenes, but it touches almost every part of the studio. I’ve physically built elements of the space itself, helped shape the environment our clients walk into, and I’m usually the one called in when anything technical needs sorting.
Beyond the studio walls
I spearhead and run our jewellery distribution side, Anatometal UK and NeoMetal. This is a huge part of what I do and something I’m incredibly passionate about.
The role takes me across the UK and often internationally, traveling to conferences, trade events, and professional gatherings within the piercing industry. Many studios and professional piercers know me through these events, where I work closely with them on jewellery selection, product knowledge, and bringing high-quality implant-grade jewellery into their studios.
I really enjoy being part of the wider professional community and helping studios access beautiful, exceptionally made jewellery that supports both safety and long-term wear.
Recognised jewellery photography
Photography has always been a huge part of what I do.
I was really proud to win a BVLA jewellery photography competition, and it’s been a privilege to have my images of Anatometal jewellery featured in their blogs and wider brand content.
For me, jewellery photography is about capturing the craftsmanship, detail, and beauty of each piece in a way that really reflects what makes it special.
Outside the studio
I really enjoy spending time in nature whenever I can.
I love wild swimming, hiking, biking, and generally getting outdoors and switching off for a while, although I’ll admit I don’t always get as much time for it as I’d like.
When I’m not outside, I also really enjoy reading and have recently been enjoying learning calligraphy, which nicely feeds into my love of detail, creativity, and taking time with things.
