I HAVE A MEDICAL CONDITION/ TAKE MEDICATION, can i still get pierced?

In most cases, its completely fine. However there are a few exceptions to this rule. So for your safety, if you are in doubt: ask your G.P for a doctors note. This will outline your health status in relation to a piercing and help us give you the correct after-care.

If you have any of the following conditions / are on any particular medications, please let us know or contact your health professional before booking your appointment for advice:

Diabetes / Epilepsy / T.B. / Hepatitis / HIV or AIDS / Haemophilia / Latex allergy / Heart condition / Eczema or Psoriasis / Herpes / Prone to fainting / Infections / Asthma / Blood thinners

I HAVE A NEEDLE PHOBIA BUT I STILL WANT PIERCED

We are experienced (and accustomed to) nervous clients. We deal with each person on an individual basis. Never at any time will you be shown the needle. We recommend that ALL clients close their eyes or look away, not just the scared ones! You are more than welcome to pop in to discuss the procedure and familiarise yourself with the studio beforehand.

CAN I BE PIERCED WITH A RING?

Most piercings heal much better when they are pierced with a straight post to begin with, specially cartilage and very soft tissue like lips. Unfortunately rings can encourage scarring and in some cases they can even cause a piercing to migrate. (Move from the original piercing site to another)

This decision is yours to make after receiving advice from your surgeon. Generally once you have received all your follow up appointments there will be no issues. However some surgeons recommend waiting longer.

I NEED AN MRI/ I’M DUE TO HAVE SURGERY, DO I NEED TO REMOVE MY JEWELLERY?

While its not always essential to remove your piercing, in some cases it will be. Discuss this with your physician and if needed we can assist you with putting a temporary ‘retainer’ in the piercing site for you. Even momentary removal of jewellery from a piercing can result in amazingly rapid closure of the channel, and make reinsertion difficult or impossible.
